The Muge Series are works on handmade paper, with layers of paint and pigment to create a thick textured surface. A thin waxen thread is then hand-stitched into the paper to create a minimalist composition.
Jane Timberlake Cooper received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design where she studied painting and printmaking. She has also studied organic dyes and indigo with dye-master Katherine Ellis, Japanese book binding, and various paper making techniques. Her work has been shown in galleries across the Southeast and abroad.
